Tattoo: Walk by Faith

My husband Chaz and I got our first tattoos about 10 years ago. Mine was a sun and moon design on my lower back and Chaz got an warrior band on his arm. I later had a small cross added between my shoulder blades and he got a tribal design on his shoulder. My husband and I both decided what we really wanted was scripture. Simple and to the point. It took us year to choose exactly what we wanted and were to put it.

I got a kick out the sign walking in....
The big day came and I let the hubs go first. {I wasn't a chicken, he volunteered!}
My husband went with Romans 12.

For me, a daily reminder of 2 Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Going in, this was my idea.
My little Charlie gave me a kiss for luck.
Then she hugged me and said "I hope you don't die." She wasn't serious and got me to laugh.
My time was getting closer and I was a wee bit nervous.
 And then the fun began.
I had been told by everyone who had a tattoo on their foot how much it hurt.
Praying to hold myself together {since the last time I cried, a lot}.
Twenty minutes later, and the least painful tattoo I've ever gotten, was done.
I LOVE IT!
Happy Monday. Have a blessed week.

  1. I hate to admit I've never been a tattoo fan. Used to threaten my kids if they got one they started paying for college. Now...I have become a bit obsessed with getting a small one. I don't know why...maybe it's a midlife crisis kind of thing...prove I'm still wild and crazy. I don't know what part of Ca you live in...I'm...I hate to say... in Bakersfield. Anyway...just wondered...ballpark...what a small...like 1"-2" heart say...would cost. I have absolutely no idea if its $50 or $250. Just curious. I'm also a bit of a baby...but was maybe thinking of the back of the neck, where my hair would cover most of the time....is that a really sensitive area? Sorry this is so long. Am I just crazy or what?

    1. You're not crazy at all. Growing up I didn't image myself getting a tattoo but as I got older I thought something small, dainty and feminine would be nice. This tattoo took approx 20 minutes from start to finish and cost about $60. I live in Monterey, CA area. Tattoos aren't for everyone, but this was perfect for me. Thanks for visiting! ^_^

  9. Love the tattoo, love the message, and love the fact that it's on your foot! ;) My sister wants to get a quote on her foot, I will show her this!

  10. That looks great!! That's an amazing message for your foot! I've wanted to get a tattoo on my foot for a very long time now, but am to chicken because I too have heard that it's the most painful place to get one. I feel a bit better knowing that you say it's the least painful. I might have to just do it!!
Thanks for stopping by!! I'm your newest follower!

  11. I love the scripture idea! Both my husband and I have several tattoos. Last March I got one in honor of my mother who passed away suddenly with "Fly Free" and dragonflies. The "Fly Free" was the poem on her memorial announcement that I picked out and dragonflies symbolize freedom or remembrance. We've loved the idea of getting a scripture. Your tattoos turned out beautifully! Your scripture is one of my favorites! :)

I found such a cute quote on Pinterest that says "Jesus LOVES my tattoos".

  16. I love how feminine and pretty it looks! I have been wanting to get a tattoo as well. I want something that's important. I'm Haida (Alaska Native) and want to get my wedding crest on the back (My auntie designed a crest of the lovebirds eagle and raven for our wedding that was put on a handmade buckskin dress!) ... But can't get up the nerve for the pain! How was the pain?

  22. What font did you use? I went to a tattoo parlor last summer to get one but their font choice for my foot with that exact scripture was too gaudy...I love yours!

  23. This is literally the tattoo that's next on my list. I'm 18, when I was 16 and made the decision to give my life to Christ I got a cross at the top of my back. I want 'walk by faith' on the outside of my foot. Then I 'John 16:33' underneath my cross (because that verse is at the base of why I became a Christian). And I want an infinity symbol with a hash in it (so it's like a cross inside of it) with Redeemed written under it.
How much did you say this tattoo cost? Which do you think I would be better off getting first?

  24. So I've been wanting a tattoo since I turned 50....I'm finally 56 and just got my first one, Psalm 149:3 "...praise Him with dance..." around my ankle. Since I'm a Christian and teach dance I felt that was the most appropriate. Didn't hurt at all! Was looking for another scripture and came across yours....can't wait to do it! and I'm putting a little collage of a ladybug, flower, and heart on my shoulder. No reason! just cute and I'm still young! blessings!

just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything.

Nevertheless think of if you added some great pictures or video clips to give your posts
