Friday Letters

Dear Charlie, I'm so proud of you for making student of the month for the 3rd time this year and bringing home another straight A progress report. I'm sorry you were so sick this week. Having asthma is no fun. That's one thing I wish you wouldn't have gotten from me. I'm sorry for all the times I've said "wait a second" or "I'm busy right now." You deserve so much more than that. We're going to be sending a lot more quality time together. I promise.  

Dear Rachel, I'm super excited to work on our photography project together! Of course we chose the topic of "posing" that's the most difficult for the both of us. I know we have hours of laughing until our stomachs hurt ahead of us. I haven't told you lately how overjoyed I am about the woman you're becoming. I know I struggle with letting you grow up. It just happened so fast. You went from boy's having cooties to when do I get a drivers lesson overnight. I'm working on it. I promise.  

Dear My Husband, If I don't tell you enough, I'm the most blessed woman in the world. While working on our wedding post this week, I went though all our wedding boxes full of memories. Each one I remember with so much detail. You spoil me. You don't let me clean or do laundry. You don't make me do the dishes or clean up after the animals. You just want me to be the best mom I can be, spending as much time as possible with our girls. You don't know how much I appreciate that even though sometimes I fell like I don't help out enough. I'm looking forward to another "date night" soon. Still want to marry me? I would marry you again everyday. I love you with all my heart and will never leave your side for the rest of our lives. I promise. 

Dear God, Thank you for being the foundation of our family. Help me be a better wife, mother and friend. I am weak. Help guide me down the narrow path and not the worldly ways. You've shown me how much prayer changes things and constantly showing me how much I'm loved. Help my focus stay on you.

Hello Our Reflection followers!  I was so excited when Laura agreed to do this 

swap with me.  She is such a lovely person and I love to meet new people!

Hi, my name is Salena!  I was born and raised and currently live in Hawaii.  

I am a wife, mother of 6 (3 adult kids & 3 little ones), and a grandmother of 3.  I am a stay-at-home mommy to my 3 little girls and spend my days in what seems like a UFC fight and 3-ring circus.  I am addicted to coffee, diet coke, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, re-creating my blog design, and pinterest.

 I blog because I want to share my life with others in hopes to inspire them. It's a joy for me to talk with others and to connect with their life experiences and to share mine. I created “A Little Piece of Me” in hopes to fulfill this passion of mine. My blog centers around my daily life, marriage, parenting, things that interest me, what I'm passionate about and basically just where my heart thoughts lead me.

I opened my etsy shop shortly after I started my blog.  I love creating things like cards, jewelry, accessories and fun things for my girls.  In my shop you can find handmade & handcrafted accessories.  Being born and raised in Hawaii, you will find some Hawaiian influences in my pieces.

Friday | My Week in Photos

I love Friday's! Not only for the apparent end of a work week and now its time for a family fun weekend but for for blogging, my weeks reflection in photos. Taking a moment to look back and reflect. Being a photographer for me there's no better way to express myself.

Well it's February! Can you believe have quick January came and went?  I'm doing something pretty fun for this month. I'm participating in February Photo A Day Challenge. It's super fun! At the end of each month, a new challenging list will be posted of what genera of photo to take that particular day. If you want to join in, its not to late. You've only missed two days. Below is the list for February. Come on! You can do it! 

Here's how to play:

1. Use the list below as inspiration and take a photo everyday. For example for number one on the list, 'your view today' you'd take a shot of whatever it is that you can see today. This would be a wider shot of your office space, where you went for a walk, or whatever it is that you can see!

2. Share on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, your blog or where ever it is you want to share. If you're sharing on Instagram or Twitter use the hashtag #FEBphotoaday so everyone can find them. There's a great community around the photo sharing, so do share!

3. Check out everyone else's pictures. I do it before I go to bed each night and it's so fun to see how different everyone's photos are. There are people from every corner of the world playing.

It was my birthday and this was from my awesome hubby.

This week was crazy at our house!

Charlie loves playing video games with the cat on  her lap. Rachel went Winter Ball

Rachel packed me a lunch and labeled everything! Charlie's took tons

of pictures of our craft project so I could blog about it. {SO cute!}

Charlie bought a guitar necklace because she says "It reminders of Ren {her big adopted brother}. I miss him." He moved across county last month. Its been hard, on all of us.

Then there's what happens when mom blogs to much.... dinner out of a box. O_o

Saturday we baked conversation cookies. Ok they're not Marta Stewart looking but very tasty!

Then Starbucks gave a free coffee for my birthday! Non-fat peppermint mocha with whip please.
