Confession: I'm Addicted

Who would have though in such a short amount of time I could become addicted.
Seriously. My body has cravings and aches for more.

I'm talking about exercise. What did you think I was talking about?!

Just 2 short weeks ago I started a new healthier lifestyle.
Being aware of what I eat, counting calories and exercising daily.
This is not a diet, this is a lifestyle change.

The most awesome part, we're doing this as a family.
Farmers market every weekend to stalk up on our fruits and veggies.
Hitting the gym 5 days a week.
It's so much easier to keep it up if you have a team behind you.

It's weird, but I forgot how good it felt to live healthy.
How when you exercise you have more energy, more will-power, more metal strength.
Together my daughter and I have lost over 10lbs. 

A few things I'm doing differently that I have in the past.

1) My Fitness Pal - This is the new app I'm using to track my daily calorie intake.
It is extremely awesome and if you have friends using it, it's interactive. Let's be friends!

2) Do this 2-3 times a day. Yeah, you'll feel it. Trust me

I'm just pumped and wanted to share my excitement with you guys.

What I must keep telling myself...



The one thing I really wish I could do is run. I don't know what's wrong with me but I run down the driveway and I winded but I can ride a bike a miles. This is my new goal. At the gym I always avoid the treadmill. I'm not planning on running a marathon anytime soon, but I will run. The outcomes worth it.
God blessed me with this body, not its time I start taking care of it.

  1. I love My Fitness Pal, I just started using it too! It's great! Totally addicting!

    If you want to start running, I did a training program called Couch to 5k....it was awesome! I couldn't run at all before, even though I worked out all the time! You can find a schedule for free online, and I believe there's an app too!

  2. I started running in March & I couldn't even run 1/4 of a mile. Now I am up to 2 miles. I soo look forward to my runs it's addicting! Exercise is good for body and mind! ;)

  5. I think some of us were designed to run and others were not. I get my cardio in other ways. I try to get into it, but I can't!

  6. Running becomes addicting after awhile! I know because I can go out and do an 8 mile run in the morning, and by the afternoon I feel like running again! I don't though...not that crazy!

  8. I also heart running, but only when I'm done, unless there's a major energy boost I'm running on. Love exercising in general though. I'm a huge Jillian Michaels video fan.

  11. Way to go! I recently had to quit my job and have more time to focus on fitness and I'm addicted. I have been spinning, weight lifting classes, yoga, and running. I havent started using an app to keep track fo things....maybe I need to check it out and try it.

  12. Just recently discovered this app! I love it! and i ALWAYS go running. Its the one thing I always make sure to do every time. I love the feeling I get after running 2-3 miles. It feels so good & is a great stress release for me. :) That & yoga. I'm CRAZY about yoga & pilates.

  13. I'm a new follower of your blog - love it!

    I have just recently started running using the couch to 5K app. I had tried it before and failed...miserably. This time around I'm much more successful! I joined a 5K accountability group and a running coach mentioned to us that we shouldn't be running faster than a "conversational" pace as we begin training for this. That changed everything for me! I run *slowly*, as in barely more than a power walk. But my time intervals are increasing and it isn't killing me!!

  14. I started running when I was 35 and have felt better the last few years than I did in my twenties. I don't like running, but it is worth it.
